Elite Planning and Marketing, a full service event planning/management and marketing firm, launched with an event that not only introduced EPM to consumers, but impacted others in the process! EPM hosted a launch event on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Sudhouse DC - 1340 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009. A portion of proceeds were given to the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders (GFPD) Foundation during their Washington, D.C. scientific conference in July 2017.
The GFPD is a support network developed in 2010 by Shannon Butella, and the parents of children affected with Peroxisome Biogenesis Disorders (PBD). PBD is a rare (and terminal) metabolic syndrome that only grants a majority of the children suffering with this disease six months to a year of life. The GFPD is a 501 (c)(3), dedicated to securing and identifying funds for research and best practices. The organization has hosted numerous conferences for the families suffering from this rare disease, facilitates an online support group, and connects families to various resources. To access additional information on the GFPD please visit their website at www.thegfpd.org.
